Joel Bruch

Head Coach

With over 23 years of experience in the home services industry, Joel Bruch has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic prowess.  Joel’s remarkable achievements include establishing multi-million-dollar service departments in electrical, plumbing, and home standby generators, directing sales efforts, and fostering team development.

Beginning in the electrical industry at just 15 years old, Joel honed his skills through various roles, eventually founding his own electrical contracting business. In 2015, he merged his company with a local, new construction HVAC business.  Within 3 years of its launch, efforts were focused on growing electrical service, where he spearheaded the growth of the electrical division to $6 million in annual revenue, which included home standby generators.  The transition of the revenue mix to service-centric allowed the sales team to secure the right general contractors who valued their work, growing new construction net profits to 15%.

Over the years, Joel’s responsibilities increased. He led mid-level management and coached and mentored technicians, installers, and customer service representatives, growing annual revenues to 16 million. There were many contributing factors to the team’s success.

In the first year of offering plumbing service, the team generated $800,000 in annual revenue and in year two, nearly doubled the revenue to 1.5 million.

The sales department grew from (1) primary home solutions advisor to having (3) additional advisors join the team from 2018 to 2023. Training provided to the team enabled them to offer multi-trade services while in the home.  Each sales advisor in their first year averaged 1 million dollars in sales.  A well-developed sales process, daily tracking of sales performance and attention to the customer experience enabled the team to average 2.4 million in sales with a closing rate of 50% for new customers and 71% closing ratio for technician and in-house leads.  Consistency and accountability were two underlying themes driving the team’s success.

The development and implementation of standard operating procedures has always been something that has motivated Joel. He knows that having standards & procedures can create a clear perspective of expectations for all team members. Some of the standard operating procedures Joel has created have been:

  • Technician Service Call Guidelines
  • Service & Maintenance Program & Task List
  • Multi-Trade Membership Plans- growing to 1200 memberships
  • Invoice Payment Schedule for new construction projects
  • Electrical & Plumbing Service Price Books
  • New Construction, Electrical, Plumbing, & Generator Installation Guidelines
  • Department & Fleet Inventory Management
  • Process for technician-generated leads- yielding a 15% conversion rate of all calls
  • Home Solutions Advisor Pricing Strategies and Sales Process

Excited to give back to the industry, Joel looks forward to sharing his knowledge and wisdom with contractors, guiding them toward financial growth to achieve their business and personal goals. He is committed to building strong, collaborative relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and long-term success.

Outside work, Joel enjoys spending time with his family, engaging in art activities with his daughter, building LEGOs with his son, biking, reading, live music, and savoring a cup of coffee.
