Patrice Boyd joined the BDR accounting coach team in 2023 with 13 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and back-office operations across numerous industries, including the contracting trades. She has worked for two specialist consulting/coaching companies focused on bookkeeping and accounting and in a self-employed capacity serving her clients. She has worked with over 40 business owners across half a dozen states, ranging from $500,000 to $15 million in annual revenue.
Patrice has a “double career” with considerable experience as an onsite employee bookkeeper/accountant and over a decade of remote-based external-client consulting, coaching, and training experience in the same capacity. These are very distinct and separate skill sets that BDR clients will benefit significantly from.
Patrice’s bookkeeping and accounting experience includes:
- Full-charge bookkeeping and accounting roles
- Back-office operations set-up and management
- AR & AP
- Invoice verification and posting, bank and credit card reconciliation
She has set up accounting software systems and back-office procedures from scratch and resolved dozens of existing accounting file issues. She has also executed several accountant/controller-level functions for clients, including establishing monthly and annual budgets, vendor relationship evaluation and management, and evaluating and selecting financing options on capital investment decisions.
Patrice has trained numerous business owners to read a P&L and Balance Sheet and understand working capital and the importance of cash management.
Throughout her career, Patrice has had a strong passion for and has excelled at training, coaching, and providing confidence-gaining encouragement to her clients.
Now, as an accounting coach with BDR, she says her “biggest reward comes when I see the understanding materialize in the eyes of my clients. This is the thing that generates the greatest personal satisfaction for me.”
