Mike brings more than 25 years of accounting and finance experience across government, corporate, and nonprofit organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park and has served in leadership roles including Senior Accountant Special Projects at Argonne National Laboratory, Manager of Accounting at Raytheon Technical Services, and Deputy Director of Finance for the American Federation of Government Employees. Throughout his career, Mike has developed a strong reputation for combining technical financial expertise with a people focused approach centered on mentorship, collaboration, and helping others succeed.
Among the accomplishments Mike is most proud of are mentoring interns and junior staff early in his career, leading projects that streamlined banking operations and improved efficiencies at Argonne National Laboratory, and managing due diligence and accounting conversions for six acquired companies during his time at Raytheon. Beyond the financial side of those projects, Mike took pride in helping teams navigate change and feel supported throughout the process. He believes strong communication, active listening, and a genuine understanding of a client’s challenges are critical to building trust and creating long term success.
As an Accounting Coach with Business Development Resources (BDR), Mike is excited to help contractors gain confidence in their financial operations by providing accurate, actionable data that supports smarter business decisions. He is passionate about introducing processes and efficiencies that help business owners spend less time buried in financial stress and more time focused on growing their company and enjoying life outside of work. Mike values building strong relationships with clients and advocates for their success every step of the way. Outside of work, he enjoys watching sports, supporting Texas Longhorn athletics, spending time with his wife, working in the yard, and embracing new hobbies.
