Dana Newton

Dana brings more than 20 years of accounting experience across a wide range of industries, including retail, oil and gas, hospice, non profits, ranching, plumbing, hospitality, and small business operations. She holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Business Administration from Angelo State University. Dana began her career in administrative roles within the real estate industry before transitioning into accounting, where she developed a passion for helping businesses better understand their financial performance and create stronger operational foundations.

One of Dana’s proudest professional accomplishments came when she was hired by a local non profit organization to audit its financial records amid concerns of fraud and embezzlement. After uncovering significant financial issues, she was appointed Interim Executive Director and successfully helped guide the organization back to financial stability, where it continues to thrive today. Known for her highly organized, detail oriented approach and strong leadership skills, Dana believes that understanding the financial side of a business gives owners the confidence to make informed decisions that drive long term success.

As an Accounting Coach with Business Development Resources (BDR), Dana is excited to help contractors gain a deeper understanding of their business financially while building long term partnerships rooted in trust and exceptional customer service. Her passion for teaching and helping others stems from years of training and mentoring throughout her career, as well as her early experiences working in her family’s trophy and awards business. She is passionate about helping business owners identify what is profitable, what needs attention, and where opportunities for growth exist so they can make confident decisions that optimize the success of their company. Outside of work, Dana enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on her son at baseball games.
